The Tidal Sleep

The Tidal Sleep is a young, german, hardcore band formed in summer 2011. Members of TTS have played in few HC projects before. In 2012 was premiere of their debut selftitled EP. Their music is full of emotions and melody hardcore witch characteristic strong vocal. That way of playing become quite common in german HC scene. If you like Way Down, Lasting Traces, Together this band is definately for You!

Agent Fresco

Agent Fresco is an Icelandic band of startling originality known for volcanic performances of music spanning the jazz, pop, rock & hardcore genres. At the heart of their sound is a lyric intensity that flows through finely crafted lyrics, soaring rhapsodic melodies, sideways-pulling polyrhythms and spasmodic eruptions of aggressive guitar, supported on drums by a rhythmic ribcage varying in style from spiffy jazz to muscular rock. As my friend said: "Dredg meets deftones meets damiera meets mars volta ". Nice company, isn't it? I can't stop listening them - highly recommended!

The Lucky Nine were an English rock supergroup-of-sorts, featuring members of some other top British rock bands, including “A”, Hundred Reasons, Sunna and (the now defunct) Cable. Their collaboration resulted in an EP, and one full-length record, True Crown Foundation Songs: Hymns Of History And Hidden Ritual, both released in 2005.

Flawless is a four piece DIY Pop Punk / Melodic Hardcore band from Springfield, MO (aka Pizza City) that sports a more energetic take on their 90’s emo contemporaries. Influenced by (and in the vein of) Lifetime, American Football, Jawbreaker, and Texas is the Reason, it’s safe to say that the dweebs in Flawless wish it was 1997 and Polyvinyl Records was still as relevant. Flawless’s 1st EP entitled ‘Something I’ll Never Miss’ debuts December 17, 2011 on OurBlock Records. Expect lots of weekend tours soon, and a few long summer tours in the summer. Go Bears!

Lasting Traces is a four-piece melodic hardcore band from Baden-Württemberg, Germany formed in 2007. Part of members have previously played together in German hardcore punk band Brainshot. Their lyrics are concerned primarily with their own struggles and convulsions of daily life. Be it the parade theme of “interpersonal relations”, as well as his own inner dissatisfaction with himself self-reflection or soul Strip, as one would call flat. Their music is everything what you can expect from modern hardcore band, with melodic moments and sometimes 'singing choruses'.

Eric Ayotte

Eric Ayotte is a Halo Fauna's singer in his solo acoustic project, which seem to be some kind of the rage of current days. Sometimes tagged as 'punk', probably because of his lyrical discontent of a present world connected with motivation and determination to be happy, better and stronger at the same time! Suprisingly his music is so light, funny and catchy. When I was on his gig some time ago with Portugeses from Adorno (Eric is their good friend, what was visible during the show), amazing thing was that everybody from the crew sang his songs on a full throat with so much passion and energy and everything in magical familiar atmosphere. That was remarkable! Recently he put out an album of songs he wrote to his grandfather’s poetry. It’s some pretty amazing stuff.

Defeater

Defeater, a hardcore group from Boston, Massachusetts formed in 2004 and solidified in 2008, is a forward-thinking hardcore band with much more than just mosh parts. They are the one of the modern-hardcore groups which can't be mislead with any other. Music full of emotions, passion and wise, metaphorical lyrics are the components that I like the most in hardcore music. New LP is a meticulously recorded concept album telling a story about a fictional family set in post-WWII, working class New Jersey. This second full-length is a double-LP opus. The ‘Empty Days’ section comprises 10 dark, tightly textured, brilliantly invigorating hardcore songs with 'crying man' vocal reminding La Dispute or Touche Amore, while ‘Sleepless Nights’ features four, more delicate, acoustic tracks that, while lacking the cathartic aggression, stand up as fine, affecting songs, with or without ‘Empty Days’’ preceding context. Absolutely amazing.

A Cold Dead Body

A Cold Dead Body is an italian musical project born in 2005. Their music is something like blend of soft post rock impressions with heavy post metal parts and everything is finished by beautiful violin sounds. All of that music arrangement is mixed by growls and clean vocals, which is actually atypical for post metal genre and makes them quite unique. This is another italian band, next to fantastic Amia Venera Landscape, which playing that kind of music interest me SO MUCH - maybe I schould check more of groups from that european country?

With each album their sound became less chaotic and in the end their last album was described as one of the best post-hardcore releases, at least in Norway.
