Crywank

Band's Request

Crywank is James Clayton trying as hard as he can to do some folk-punk influenced acoustic music with no previous experience playing guitar. His first album “James is going to die soon” was written after a painful break up. Crywank states that “I wrote these songs out of frustration and sadness and they ended up making me feel a lot better, I hope they have a similar effect on you”.

Beirut

Beirut is an American band which was originally the solo musical project of Santa Fe native Zachary Francis Condon, and later expanded into a band. They draw inspiration from many musical generes - from classical and alternative rock, through electronica and psychedelic and even Gypsy or Balkan rhythms. They use a lot of instruments such as trumpet, mandolin, violin, cello, tambourine, piano, ukulele and accordion.

Eric Ayotte

Eric Ayotte is a Halo Fauna's singer in his solo acoustic project, which seem to be some kind of the rage of current days. Sometimes tagged as 'punk', probably because of his lyrical discontent of a present world connected with motivation and determination to be happy, better and stronger at the same time! Suprisingly his music is so light, funny and catchy. When I was on his gig some time ago with Portugeses from Adorno (Eric is their good friend, what was visible during the show), amazing thing was that everybody from the crew sang his songs on a full throat with so much passion and energy and everything in magical familiar atmosphere. That was remarkable! Recently he put out an album of songs he wrote to his grandfather’s poetry. It’s some pretty amazing stuff.

Tim Kasher

Tim Kasher is a musician from Omaha, Nebraska. He is the frontman of indie rock groups Cursive (untouchable said that he will upload them soon ;p) and The Good Life, both of which are on the Omaha based label Saddle Creek Records. Prior to those bands, Kasher was in a band called Slowdown Virginia. He also made a brief appearance with the Omaha band Commander Venus and The March Hares. This is his solo album released in 2010 on Saddle Creek. Kasher has a very close relationship with Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes and so their music is very similiar. In my opinion, he is lyrical genius, great singer and just totally talented guy. And so magical when he's playing, you should go to his concert, just breathtaking.

Jónsi

Jón Þór Birgisson, aka Jónsi, is the guitarist and vocalist for the Icelandic band Sigur Rós and also makes music with Alex Somers as Jónsi & Alex. He is known for his use of a cello bow on guitar and his falsetto voice. "Go" is his first solo album recorded in tonnes of ambient and melodic experimental music which include some sounds of folk, electronics and sometimes also neoclassical.

Conor Oberst

Conor Oberst is an musician who played in several bands including Bright Eyes, Desaperacidos and Monsters Of Folk. Oberst began his musical career at age 13 and self-released his debut album Water. He is one of the founding members of the independent record label Saddle Creek Records.
