...and Jesu is that other side. But in my opinion, now it's different band. When something that amazing, complex and so complete like Jesu was divided, for me as a longtime fan, it's really hard to get used to that change. But it's still good album, different, little odd, but somehow great.

Jesu is an experimental band formed by Justin Broadrick in 2003. It's a mix of electronic, heavy guitars and breath-taking arrangements. Ranging from ambient music and post-rock to industrial, drone and shoegazing.
During the writing of Jesu's "Opiate Sun EP" Justin noticed that Jesu was intended to be a guitar oriented project. The ‘electronica’ side of Jesu was just an inevitable direction for him, but never satisfied with this battle between guitars and electronica with Jesu, he decided to separate the two directions - Jesu, now, and for the forseeable future, being guitar based exclusively, with Pale Sketcher being the project where he can focus and develop further, the Jesu ‘electronica’ sound, without need for further fusion or compromise.

Grouper

Grouper is the solo project for ambient musician Liz Harris, of Portland, Oregon. Harris’ music is a mixture of softly-strummed guitar, Wurlitzer keys, and her delicate, dreamy vocals, all of which are heavily drenched in reverb. Harris released her third full-length album, Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill, in 2008. It featured at number 37 of Pitchfork’s 50 Best Albums of 2008 - a previous review on the site praised the album as “druggy and sexy and arty and pretty”. A review on Drowned in Sound called it “deeply meditative, almost spiritual… one of the most delicate, affecting albums of the year”. And IMHO this album is one of the most magical and magnificent albums from the genre. Check it out!
