• If there’s one thing I know in this life: we are beggars all.
  • At times so self destructive with no intent or motive, but behind this emotion, there lies a sensible heart.
  • I’m in no shape for a new day, I'm in no mood for a better place or a fix or your pretty face. I’m just not in the mood.
  • Say something and close the door, And break the silence in our room, Hold your breath, let you through, Just for a moment this is our shelter.
  • With your hands wide open,
Renew the days we all thought lost,
Renew the days,
Let go,
Release, revolve, renew
  • don’t even try,
to maximize these plans,
I steal,
I catch this wind,
after all of my lies,
don’t you dare fall for,
how I could be depends,
on the cold you bring
  • And if my heart just stops, keep me alive for a minute.
I want to know if a curtain drops.
  • So I don't care if you dance well
'cause fashion can't replace content and passion is lost between scene points and greasy hair.
  • I speak in sarcasm to relate to all the things I appreciate
I lie in rhythm to open doors I follow suit and just want more
  • Stay tame, soft river, while we weigh our faith, stay sweet, run softly, sweet river, the fool who wades in doubt will float like concrete.
  • You're the yellow bird that I've been waiting for.
  • New wars. New kings. The pigs came here to take everything. No wars. No kings. We gotta stop the blood-letting.
  • I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees, I'd rather die on my feet so you can WATCH ME RISE
  • I took the whole damn ride, with my best friends by my side, the days turned into nights and we held on with all our might
  • what the fuck are you so afraid of? as strong as lions but you never showed your fucking teeth.

Tim Kasher

Tim Kasher is a musician from Omaha, Nebraska. He is the frontman of indie rock groups Cursive (untouchable said that he will upload them soon ;p) and The Good Life, both of which are on the Omaha based label Saddle Creek Records. Prior to those bands, Kasher was in a band called Slowdown Virginia. He also made a brief appearance with the Omaha band Commander Venus and The March Hares. This is his solo album released in 2010 on Saddle Creek. Kasher has a very close relationship with Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes and so their music is very similiar. In my opinion, he is lyrical genius, great singer and just totally talented guy. And so magical when he's playing, you should go to his concert, just breathtaking.

The Sound Of Animals Fighting

The Sound of Animals Fighting was a progressive rock/avant-garde music project featuring members of various bands including Circa Survive, Rx Bandits and Finch. Band incorporated many members and the lineup changed considerably from album to album. Constant members are The Nightingale - Rich Balling, The Walrus - Matt Embree, The Lynx - Chris Tsagakis, The Skunk - Anthony Green. The group was brought together by Rich Balling (Rx Bandits). All parts of the album Tiger and the Duke were recorded individually and each member was only able to hear the part they contributed to the album. The only member who heard the whole album during its recording process was Balling. Amazing avant-garde project, I wish they would have done another one.

65daysofstatic NEW!

65daysofstatic began in Sheffield, United Kingdom in 2001 as Iain Armstrong, Paul Wolinski and Joe Shrewsbury. Contrary to popular belief, they did not originally form to try to write music to fit the unreleased and little known John Carpenter film, ‘Stealth Bomber’ (starring Kurt Russell). Instead, they took their name from the 1954 CIA-backed coup d’etat in Guatemala. There, the CIA disabled Guatemalan communication systems while spreading propaganda, leading to the overthrow of the government. 65daysofstatic (also known by the abbreviation 65dos or 65days) are an instrumental electronic and post-rock band from Sheffield, UK. Their debut album, The Fall of Math (2004), was released to critical acclaim.

Hammock NEW!

Hammock is the post-rock project of composers Marc Byrd and Andrew Thompson. A majority of Hammock’s music is ambient instrumental, save for a few tracks that feature haunting ethereal vocals. Hammock is all about the guitars—the band’s sound is “sleepier” than the brash, often obvious crescendos of their post-rocker cousins, reminiscent of 80’s Brian Eno and early 90’s Nick McCabe of the band The Verve. Previous Hammock post.

We're from Japan!

Well, their name is a big lie. Were from Japan! is actually from Portland, Oregon, but they have much in common with Japan, because they're signed to Zankyo Records, and their overseas fan base adores them. Their music is compared to Mogwai, Explosions In The Sky, Mono. I wonder if they'll ever release another album, because absence of such a band would be a really loss for post-rock scene.

Brume Retina UPDATE!

I couldn't name the post with NEW! in the title as I am a bit late. I found their new release by accident during my standard "euroscreamo tours". Brume Retina is a french group which has some unique approach to screamo. Vocal is actually really "fast" and it's kinda dissimilar to other representatives of french hardcore scene. Each song's structure is really odd, there is no rule, especially for when the track get's to its end. I am actually afraid to tag them as screamo as they changed a lot of standards, but who cares? They're good!

Dustin O'Halloran

Dustin O’Halloran is an American pianist, who has done work with Sara Lov for Devics and has also been featured on the soundtrack for the Sofia Coppola’s film “Marie Antoinette” (2006).

He first began classical training on the instrument at age 7. Six years of lessons were abruptly interrupted when he relocated to live with his father. O’Halloran would not touch the piano again for over a decade.

His reunion with the instrument began after meeting Sara Lov, a dynamic musician in her own right and one half of the creative force behind the Devics. Through writing music together with Lov, O’Halloran found his interest in piano reignited and his passion for the instrument slowly found its way into their songs

Bâton Rouge

Bâton Rouge isn't tottally new band, although 'Fragments d’eux mêmes' is their first official LP album. A group consist of 4/5 of revered French screamo band Daitro and one member from 12xu. "The album has a lighter, more melodic feel than you might expect from these guys, but I’m finding it to be a gem of a record that may tragically be largely ignored. Although the vocals here are more tuneful than on anything Daitro have released, there is obviously lots of common ground between the two bands. Having said that, Bâton Rouge is a clear departure from Daitro, and the more tuneful vocals really add something different into the mix. Perhaps its the new found clarity of the french language lyrics, which give the band a more distinctive and unique sound."(C)
