Lunatic Soul

Lunatic Soul is the solo project of Mariusz Duda, vocalist and bassist of Polish progressive rock band Riverside. The eponymous first (black) album was released on October 13, 2008. For the album, he enlisted the help of several friends from different bands such as Quidam, Indukti and Riverside. In stark contrast to his main outfit, Lunatic Soul contains no electric guitars at all and can be best described as a mix of ambient and progressive elements - Duda himself calls the sound “oriental-alternative”. The second (white) album was released on October 25, 2010, a continuation of the sound established on the debut. In 2011 he released his third album "Impressions", which still gets very good reviews and opinions.

Klimt

Klimt is the Polish alternative one man band of Antoni Budziński, also played in band from Sopot: Saluminesia. His debut was on compilation Sleep Well III with track "Ennui" in 2007. In 2008 his debut LP "Jesienne odcienie melancholii" was released. His music is mixture of ambient and post-rock tones with shoegaze vocals sound in the background.

Spook The Horses

Spook the Horses are a heavy post-rock band from Wellington, New Zealand. The band formed as a four piece in 2009. Zach replaced Callum as drummer in 2010, and the group started arranging and finalising tracks for their first album, 'Brighter'. The band layers three guitars, synthesiser and samples with bass and drums to create monumental songs that are at once saturated and spacious. Desperate vocals sparsely punctuate the mostly-instrumental tracks. The album expands upon the textural sonic landscapes familiar from Spook the Horses’ live shows.

Prawn formed in Ridgewood, NJ in the summer of 2007. The band draws its influences from Indie-Emo and Post-Rock. The band has extensively toured the U.S., self released two EP’s and one tour demo. WOW! This is probably the greatest of my discoveries of this year! EP from 2009 is sooo awesome! I't quite nice how somebody write about it on lastfm: "To break the cimmerian shade of an album based around sleep and its emboss to the natural world a dynamic had to be created, a wall of density given breathe and firm grip around melodies unable to wander. The expected sprawl of soft, then loud, then back to soft was sacrificed projecting a new luminance where the strength was in the tiny twisting light that exhales from the EP as a whole." I have listened new LP only few times, cause... I'm totally in love with EP! LP have to wait. Something for fans of Immanu El, Biology, Moving Mountains... Band is for sure worth to check!

Hua Lun (花伦) is a Chinese band that started in Wuhan as a Britpop influenced band in 2004 and has undergone several changes. The band’s interest slowly changed to the howling wall of Post-Rock noise and melody and thus settled on this very sound in late 2006. Since, then they have extensively toured the east coast and have received widespread attention and public recognition. They finally released their highly-anticipated debut album, Silver Daydream in early 2008 and have been regarded as the pioneers of the new wave of Post-Rock bands in China. For their second album, Asian River in 2010, they 45moved to the Maybe Mars label. Probably one of the best Chinese post-rock bands. For sure worth to check!
